@aussiebear22 15 years ago when computer start to get popular and internet service is still rare, M$ Office successfully get market share because of its close-standard! As you would only process documents offline, if others can’t view your documents, that mean a great security protection to your documents!

The CD and its technology was first created in America, the patent was ‘bought’ (actually stolen) by TDK.

Microsoft still does what they do!

* Their own document standard…doc
(This keeps changing with each new version of MS Office!)

* Their own “open standard” for documents…OOXML
(They don’t even follow it themselves! The one in Office 2007 don’t even match the spec that got through the ISO process!)
